Forget walking from one side of a valley to another… why not catch the longest Zip Slide ride in the world instead. Sun City is home to a two-kilometer Zip Slide that will certainly get your adrenaline pumping and your mind racing as it whips you across the landscape! The Sun City Zip Slide 2000 is an enormous 2000 meter-long Zip Slide managed by Unreal, probably the only Zip slide operators in the world dealing with slides as long as this. The Sun City Zip Slide is the world’s longest, highest and fastest Zip Slide At 2000 meters long, 280 metres high and with an average speed of 120 km/h. it certainly is something special! A Zip Slide is what used to traditionally (and somewhat menacingly) be referred to as a ‘Death Slide’. They are known in the USA as Zip Wires or Zip Slides, in Australia and New Zealand as Flying Foxes. Essentially you are looking at a long wire or rope that descends from a height to a specific destination to which passengers are attached for an adrenaline-rushing journey to the other side. Safety is a premium at the Sun City Zip Slide and the structure adheres to all necessary safety standards and is currently the only Zip Slide to be certified by the Department of Labor. Passengers are secured in two harnesses and suspended below a free running trolley that is attached to a steel cable so you get an experience very nearly of flying and acceleration. The sliders are at times 100m in the air and at other times only 2.5m above the ground providing plenty of different thrills along the way. The cable runs from the top of the 280m high koppie to the top of a mast 2 kilometers away.
